iAudio's flagship DAP, the X5 is a sexy and well designed DAP, and is certainly one of the most comprehensive and most advanced unit in the market. It has plenty of advanced features including a 260,000 colour LCD display, and is just as easy to use thanks to iAudio's superbly designed graphical user interface. The X5 combines with sleek slimline styling, making it also a very thin (the thinnest unit of it's kind), small and light weight (148 grams) yet it offers rich audio sounds in renowned iAudio style, and support a wide range of audio formats including MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG and one of the only two portable DAP's in the world to support FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) to achieve the highest audio quality possible. To further enhance the listening pleasure, the X5 has no less than 5 EQ and several Enhanced Sounds, like BBE, Mach3Bass and 3D Sound effects.
The X5 also has an internal FM receiver, and it is possible to record from the FM radio, voice or direct from an external audio source. There’s even more features, like recording timer, clock and alarm, as well sleep functions and multi-language support.
There's a whole lot more with the X5 then just music. It is also a portable hard drive, allowing plenty of storage for data, documents, images and can be instantly connected to the PC without any additional software (via supported OS). A unique feature is the Host USB (USB On-The-Go) feature, which allows other supported digital devices, like a digital camera to interface directly to the X5 for data and image transfer without any PC or software required. A useful feature for serious photographers or anyone requiring a single device for maximum convenience.
The X5 is also a head of the competitors, as the colour display allows JPEG image and text message viewing, with support for MPEG4 video in rich colours. Powered by a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery for long playtime, the X5 offers up to 14 hours of enjoyment.
The X5 also is supplied with Cowon’s popular JetAudio software to enhance the audio experience. JetAudio allows for playback and audio conversion. Also supplied is JetShell, iAudio’s hardware manager for the X5, but not required for installation.
Please Note: The software supplied is designed for Windows based computers. For other operating system, the X5 can function without the software, as a driverless unit.

The X5 supports one of the widest ranges of audio playback. There's the popular MP3 and WMA format, and there's the OGG and WAV as well FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec), for the best possible audio quality. To enhance the listening pleasure there’s a 5 EQ (and 1 user define), BBE, Mach3Bass, 3D Sounds and MP Enhance features.
Portable Data Storage
The X5 makes it too easy to transfer music, images or data of any kind from the PC. Just Plug and Play, driverless and no software installation on supported operating systems. Once more, it also supports MacOS and Linux, making it a very complete system, and offer maximum convenience.
Photo Viewing
The X5 display has a high quality 260,000 colour LCD display which displays JPEG images in rich colours. It also features thumb viewing support for faster viewing. Perfect for photographers.
Transfer Without A PC
The latest in USB technology; USB On-The-Go (OTG), offers compatibility with supported digital cameras and other digital devices. It allows easy data or image transfer to the X5 directly, without the PC or any additional software. Take a long trip, and just bring your X5 for the pleasant audio experiences and image storage – PC Free. For non supported cameras, also available are compatible card readers, for effortless transfer, via media/memory cards.
Advance Recording Features
The X5 just records from almost any audio source; from CD, Minidiscs or another DAP/MP3 player. The Line-In feature makes it very easy to capture music into MP3 audio format. The X5 is also capable of recording voice (using the inbuilt microphone), or via the internal FM radio.
